Deepa Dhiman did everything "right" on paper. A B.Tech in Information Technology from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, 78 percent, graduating in 2016. But a degree is not a job, and without the right guidance at the right moment, Deepa found herself buried in education-loan dues with no core IT role in sight. To keep up with her responsibilities she took a front-desk job at ₹9,000 a month, then another, and another. Not what four years of engineering was supposed to lead to.
The question every parent asks
Life moved forward in other ways. She married and became a mother. By the time her son was two and a half, she was facing the question every parent eventually asks: what future am I building for him? Her husband was working at a BPO, money was tight, and the dream of giving their child the best possible start felt like it needed more than what they had.

Midnight to 4 a.m.
She was not wrong about the work it would take. Deepa studied between midnight and 4 a.m., after her husband and son had gone to sleep, the only hours that were truly hers. She took loans to pay the course fees. Her husband picked up overtime to help carry it. Neither of them treated this as optional.
Where it went
Within six months, in October 2025, Deepa landed a role as Senior Oracle Database Administrator at Accenture, at ₹9 LPA. Nine years after her B.Tech, she was finally in the core IT career she had set out for at graduation.
